Working Together

We are committed to working collaboratively with other organizations to share best practices, learn from one another and work together to benefit young people everywhere. We approach partnership as a way to grow and evolve, enrich our programming and share experiences in a mutually beneficial and supportive framework. As such we have created some exciting strategic partnerships with the following entities.

Junta de Extremadura

In early 2010, TakingITGlobal participated in the International Forum on Young Talented People and Sport in the EU 2010 Strategy hosted by the Extremadura Regional Ministry of Youth in Spain. At this event, TakingITGlobal was honoured with a Global Youth Talent Award. As a result of our successful involvement with the Ministry, TakingITGlobal forged a partnership to leverage Extremadura as a 'hub' of youth empowerment and social innovation.

Sprout ES (Sprout in Spanish) is an initiative of TakingITGlobal and Junta Extremadura aimed at promoting social entrepreneurship among Spanish-speaking youth in Extremadura and worldwide. Based on the innovative Sprout E-course, Sprout ES is a localized and translated version of the classic curriculum originally cultivated with support from Pearson Foundation and evaluation modules developed in partnership with Tufts University.

Public Policy Forum

In 2011, we partnered with Public Policy Forum to adapt the Sprout E-course for a new project called Change Inc: Cultivating Young Social Entrepreneurs. Change Inc. aims to develop the entrepreneurship skills of Ontario youth to imagine and create their own social change projects by facilitating learning, skill building and mentoring opportunities between outstanding youth and established social entrepreneurs. StartSomeGood

StartSomeGood is a new platform for helping social good initiatives raise funds and grow a community of supporters.   Launched in March 1, 2011 SSG has since helped 23 social good initiatives raise over $170,000. Their site taps into the power of the crowd, allowing social entrepreneurs to ask for small amounts of money from supporters from around the world, and gives them the tools to update their supporters, provide unique rewards in exchange for support and run multiple campaigns over time.  SSG has taken the crowdfunding model -- which is growing in popularity world-wide -- and customized it to reflect the unique needs of social entrepreneurs.

Microsoft

 Innovate for Good is a Microsoft Youth Spark initiative undertaken in collaboration with TakingITGlobal. The Innovate for Good global events and online community allow young people to make an impact on society by starting their own business or social venture, continuing their education, or finding employment, through leveraged resources from Microsoft. TakingITGlobal is providing unique community engagement tools and social innovation programming including a webinar series, Seed Funding for Innovation Challenge, skills exchange and micro mentorship.
